Lifeguard supervision services

National Lifeguard training is Canada's lifeguarding standard.

National Lifeguard training is the recognized standard for lifeguard certification across Canada. Developed by the Lifesaving Society, it prepares candidates with the skills, knowledge, and judgment needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The training goes beyond strong swimming ability, focusing on critical areas like risk assessment, emergency response, teamwork, and public relations. It is designed to meet the demands of real-world aquatic environments including pools, waterparks, waterfronts, and surf situations.

When National Lifeguards are present and supervising a location, the added layer of protection provided is an important drowning prevention technique. Every year there are over 400 fatal drownings in Canada, but under 1% of those cases occur in locations with lifeguard supervision.

Lifeguard Services Winnipeg, Manitoba

Need a lifeguard? We can help. We provide lifeguard supervision plans, and the lifeguards to fill the schedule, for scenarios such as following:

  • Construction sites over or near water (bridges, dams, riverbank restoration, etc.);
  • Film shoots in, on, or around water;
  • School field trips that involve water (camping, canoe trips, days at the beach, etc.);
  • Private Pool Parties

Each service agreement is built around the specific needs of the project in question.

While each service agreement is specific to a project, there are some general rules we apply to all projects:

  • Our lifeguards always work in teams of at least two, never alone;
  • No alcohol is allowed in, on, or around the water in areas supervised by our lifeguard staff;
  • A safety plan for each site will be developed in advance of lifeguards starting work, and will include safety rules for the site;
  • Our lifeguards have the final say on all safety issues related to the water area being supervised.
